For the last month or so, we’ve been immersed in what Astrologers might call ‘Pisces season’. This is when the sun appears to ‘move’ through the constellation of Pisces, a water sign with sensitive, romantic, spiritual and ethereal qualities. Pisces season may have found you feeling dreamy, imaginative, emotionally sensitive or overly sympathetic to those around you, and it’s a great sign to have found ourselves in at the tail-end of Winter. Winter was a season to hibernate, rest, dream and imagine what you might want to manifest come Springtime, perfectly aligning with the energy of Pisces. As we reach the 18th March 2022 however, the full moon in Virgo brings a more practical, rational energy that encourages us to start putting ideas into action. If you’re feeling the pull to make changes and ‘get stuff done’ this season, the full moon in Virgo is here to lend a hand. Read on for our tips on making the most of this full moon!

The Power of Virgo

Full moons are a time of culmination and completion, of wrapping up projects and reflecting upon what you no longer want to hold on to in this new lunar phase. They’re also a time when emotions can be heightened, so whatever you’re feeling, you’ll likely feel it to a greater extent on a full moon. A regular meditation practice is a great way to bring awareness to your emotions (especially with the use of tools like The Box Of Emotions), and books like Morning Meditations by Danielle North provide valuable insights on shifting your state of mind so you can harness the power of the full moon in a positive way.

Virgo is an earth sign, so if you’ve been feeling a little ungrounded or without a focus recently, the qualities of this sign can help you find your feet again. The qualities of Virgo are humble, rational, practical and methodical – these types usually love to focus on the details of a task and thrive when they’re able to prove their worth by helping others, but they can easily fall into habits of being overly critical, controlling, obsessive, and hold themselves to standards that are excessively high. Whilst it’s great to have goals and achievements, it’s important to remember to soften and have compassion for yourself and others, and to balance ‘work’ with ‘fun’. The energy of Virgo supports putting plans into action, and as we approach the Spring equinox on Sunday 20th March, this makes for the perfect time to grab the Positive Bullet Diary, and jot down how and when you’ll manifest what you’ve been dreaming about over Winter.

Virgo’s earth energy provides a time to literally and metaphorically sow new seeds for the year ahead. It’s a time to stand your ground and dig deep to unearth your ‘let’s do this’ attitude on the cusp of Spring. Read on for our go-to practices this Virgo full moon!

Get Organised

Virgo is a very practical sign, and holds an energy that may make us want to feel more organised in our minds and in our own homes. This full moon just before the Spring equinox is a great time to reorganise and Spring clean your home. A cluttered home or cupboard full of items that aren’t needed or wanted can make us feel emotionally heavy and stressed. Chinese Medicine’s system of Feng Shui places importance on a healthy flow of energy through the home, and says that clutter clogs the natural flow of energy. According to Feng Shui, physical clutter represents that we may be ‘burying’ our true selves from others, but ‘clutter’ also refers to anything unfinished, unsaid, unresolved or disorganised. As the full moon is a time of culmination, use this moment to de-clutter your space and your schedule. Use the Scentered Focus Therapy Balm to help harness your attention, and the Ponderlily Weekly Planner to schedule in your weekly commitments (remembering that relaxation and fun are just as important as work!).

Connect To The Earth

It’s time to move out of your head and into your body. If you’ve been over-thinking, worrying or simply spending an excessive amount of time mulling things over in your mind, take time to reconnect to the earth this full moon. The practice of ‘earthing’ (literally connecting your bare skin to the earth, whether with your hands or feet) is said to help reduce inflammation, pain and stress, and improves blood flow, sleep and vitality. As well as walking barefoot on the earth, this is a great time to get out into your garden to sow seeds and plant flowers. Some traditional farming methods use the moon as a guide to their planting calendar, and the full moon is most suited to planting root crops like potatoes, beetroot and carrots. A window box or even a handful of houseplants can also do wonders for mental health, helping us reconnect to the earth whether it’s out on the ground or in a decorative pot. Use Plant Therapy by Dr Katie Cooper as your guide to the best house plants for you, and read Rewild Your Life by Sarah Stirling for inspiration on 52 ways to reconnect to nature.

Take Time Out For Self Care

Amid the busy-ness of the first few months of the year, those restful, slower-paced days of Winter can seem a very long time ago. Virgo energy may be practical and down-to-earth, but that doesn’t mean you have to completely abandon your favourite pampering products or forgo your self-care time. Those who are a Virgo sign are said to enjoy a little time out to beautify themselves and make themselves feel their best, so as we reach the evening of Virgo’s full moon, schedule in an evening just for you and your body. Use the Hydrea Gentle Exfoliating Bamboo Mitt to remove dead skin cells and boost your lymphatic flow, followed by a bath filled with Haeckels seaweed, which holds an abundance of rejuvenating qualities, and has been used for generations in the repair of skin. Seaweed also helps protect against cellulite, arthritis and eczema, and after using, it makes a great organic fertiliser for the garden! Finish up with Tissearand’s Total De-Stress Massage & Body Oil, with 100% natural essential oils of sweet orange, geranium and nutmeg. When you’re feeling relaxed and ready for bed, take a last look out of the window at this month’s full moon in Virgo, reflecting upon how you could adopt those qualities of practicality, humbleness and feeling grounded when you wake the next morning.
