Formerly a boutique hotel, The Falcon, Castle Ashby has been reimagined into a haven for health, healing and heritage. Guided by its founders – Spencer and Tracy Northampton – the wellness destination now hosts immersive retreats focused on transformation, recovery, healing and mental wellbeing.

Nestled in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside, The Falcon is located on the historic Castle Ashby Estate – which has been the ancestral home of the Compton family since the 16th century and comprises 10,500 acres of Capability Brown-designed parkland.

As part of its wellness offering, The Falcon hosts regular wellbeing classes ranging from sound healing to yoga, as well as guided forest therapy experiences, heritage walks and open-water swimming.

The Falcon, Castle Ashby is delighted to be providing the setting for this year’s Yoga Garden Party in aid of The Hope Foundation.

In the words of Lord Northampton:

My ancestor William Compton bought the Castle Ashby estate with its Norman Castle in 1512. He had been brought up at the Court of Henry VII as his father had died when he was 11 years old. He was given the role of Groom of the Bedchamber to Prince Henry and they became good friends. Henry knighted him on the steps of the Cathedral after the battle of Tournai. His grandson Lord Henry Compton got permission from Queen Elizabeth 1st to pull down the Norman Castle and erect a prodigy house in her honour in 1574. Originally in the shape of an ‘E’ the Long Gallery connecting the two wings was added by Inigo Jones in 1635.

In 2011 I met Tracy and we were subsequently married two years later. The Falcon hotel had been used as a wedding venue by Greene King to whom it was leased. When the lease came to an end Tracy and I decided to turn it into a boutique hotel with a strong emphasis on wellness. We started redesigning it in 2017 and finished the building works in 2020 three weeks before the first Covid lockdown. We ran it for four years but it developed into a fine dining restaurant with 22 bedroom suites and hardly any wellness. So we decided to close it at the start of 2025 and turn the business into a transformational healing centre dedicated to helping people. Tracy has been in the field of mental health for 40 years and as an accredited Psychotherapist still practices privately in Chelsea to this day. I have spent many years learning about alternative cures for treating people with health issues . I also completed the advance training in Biogeometry and have subsequently learnt about radiesthesia which enables me to harmonise energies in people, buildings and landscapes.

We completed the Wellness Centre in the village last year. It sits on a ley line which runs from the Church down through the Falcon. We have also built a labyrinth in the wood behind based on sacred geometry which acts as a powerful transceiver to heal people who walk it mindfully.

We hope you enjoy your day with us as we continue to develop our centre and please sign up to our newsletter so we can keep you informed of future developments.
