When did you first discover Yogamatters?
I'm not sure exactly but Yoga Matters became synonymous with yoga itself. It was always the first place you thought of for anything yoga.

It is almost impossible to create a relaxed and passive chest opener without the use of a bolster. With your chest open, your ribcage lifted it can give space for you to breathe, it lifts your ribs away from your stomach which can help with nausea, a common side effect when living with cancer.

I'm so grateful that it is not just one thing but many many things but if I had to pick just one it would be connection. Connection to my body, my breath, my feelings and my mind and a connection to other like minded people.

When I first moved to the UK back in 2002, I realised I needed to get props! Yogamatters was my source! 🧡

My restorative yoga teacher training with Anna Ashby completely changed my practice by revealing the power of props. Feeling fully supported by bolsters, blankets and sandbags transformed my relationship with rest and continues to shape how I teach today.

Better health (mental and physical). A new appreciation, wonder and perspective on life itself. An ongoing opportunity to connect with wonderful students and teachers of yoga who sustain each other in community.

23 years ago when I first started teaching yoga and bought lots of bulk mats for community projects.

Teaching headstand in a mental health class using two chairs and rolled mats to support shoulders allowing someone to invert without fear of hurting their neck.

Literally my life.

I first discovered Yogamatters many years ago, when I was deepening my own yoga practice.

Bolsters because they are endlessly supportive and versatile.

Using multiple bolsters in Savasana transformed the pose for me. One beneath my knees and another resting across my hips. The added weight and support creates such a deep sense of grounding, allowing my whole body to soften.

I’m deeply grateful for the inner calm and balance yoga has brought into my life, and for the way it continually brings me back to myself.

I first discovered Yogamatters as a student at triyoga, surrounded by their iconic purple props.

The friendships. Some of the most meaningful relationships in my life have grown through yoga. They've supported me through so many seasons of life, and I'm incredibly grateful for them.

I think it was over 20 years ago! Right at the start of my yoga journey!

My bolster(s). I can't imagine being without it. On the mat, in bed, on the sofa, in pregnancy, in recovery from surgery, in happy times lying in the garden, in sad times hugging for comfort, to build a wall for the babies, to rest my head.

Everything. I am grateful for everyone who has joined in the journey with me. It's been the biggest blessing in my life.

Facilitating a breathwork session with the Yogamatters team in Kerala in January. We were all sitting on the woven mats that were made in India by their suppliers that they were about to meet. It was a very profound feeling of interconnectedness and appreciation the soul behind the products.
