How do beginners start meditating?

For the seating position, you can choose to either lie down on your bed or yoga mat or sit in a cross-legged position on the floor, using a meditation cushion for added support if you wish. Once you're settled in your position, simply close your eyes and take slow deep breaths in and out - the key to successful meditation is to focus on your breathing and clear your mind of any thoughts except 'breathe in' and 'breathe out'.
