Discover the History of Yoga with Yoga Campus

Here at Yogamatters, we’re fascinated with Yoga philosophy and the history of yoga. It seems as though no matter how deep you read into one part, there is a never ending wealth of knowledge to be had. The more you come to know, the more you realise there is still to learn.

When we heard that our friends at Yogacampus had launched an online course about the History of Yoga, we were so excited to share it. The course starts on 4th June 2018 and lasts for 7 weeks.

Yogacampus have joined forces with the main researchers of the Haṭha Yoga Project, as well as other leading academics in the burgeoning field of yoga studies, each contributing from their own specialised areas of study and research, combining to provide a refreshing perspective not found elsewhere.

On the last round of the course, Ph.D, Writer, Educator and Activist Carol Horton shared these words about the course and its tutors:

“This course offers an unparalleled opportunity to learn about the history of ancient and modern yoga from a consortium of scholars engaged in cutting-edge research in this rapidly developing field. Its mix of videotaped lectures, course slides, required and recommended readings, short quizzes, and curated written discussion provides an excellent structure for learning a lot of material in a relatively short time. The course is also thoughtfully designed to support serious practitioners who seek to integrate this knowledge into their own personal yoga philosophy, teaching, and practice.”
