Becalm balls

Becalm balls

The quick fix to instant calmness, these soft balls are placed under the head in savasana (corpse pose) to bring the body to a natural still point.

Resting in the still point will produce instant stress relief and a deep feeling of relaxation - after a few minutes you'll feel noticably calmer.

Please note, the Becalm Balls should not be used by anyone who is pregnant, has had a stroke, or suffers from conditions affecting the head.

Hi Madeleine, Thank you for sharing your experience. One of our members of staff is a regular user of the becalm balls and would like to share the following tips with you - maybe that helps you to get the full effect of the becalm balls! Don't space the balls too far. Your head should feel slightly between the balls and not on top of them or touching the chain. About one centimetre apart is usually enough. Place the ball at the line where your head touches the floor. You could use Exer-soft ball placed under the sacrum spine with just enough air to keep the sacrum above the ground. It should feel as if the lower part of the spine is floating. That way there is less pressure on the spine and this helps to increase the flow of synovial fluid. Use bolsters, cushions or folded blankets under your calves. Becalm balls work better after yoga practice. Use them to deepen the effect of savasana. All the best, The Yogamatters team

Thankyou so much for these tips I will try, with these added extras. It sounds like I had got the positioning right , the width and position under my head, but I like the sound of a Exersoft ball under the sacrum. In fact I'II think I'II give it a go now! I'm glad I bothered to give feed back, thanks for these useful suggestions.

After using the Stillpointer for 10 minutes a day for four days my long standing back problem is much improved.

I've been using the Stillpointer daily for the past four days. I use it at the end of my daily Yoga practice for 10-15 minutes, while performing Savasana. When I purchased the Stillpointer, I didn't build much expectations around it because I'm a very sceptical person. But now I must confess I'm pretty impressed. I've suffered from pain on my right shoulder for eight months and it always gets worse after performing Chaturanga Dandasana - which I started avoiding. It may sound strange but since I started using the Stillpointer, I've been performing Chaturanga Dandasana and even Dolphin Plank Pose and the pain is gone. I was going to wait a few more days before posting a review to see how good this product is, but I'm really impressed.

I received the Stillpointer only two days ago but have used it twice. It has an amazing relaxing effect. I plan to use it every day.

I was told by my osteopath the Becalm balls were too soft and mobile. I must admit I prefered his fixed and solid becalm balls. They gave my head and neck the correct angle.

My verdict is undecided as yet. I have not found the placement where I feel stillness, and I have experimented a lot with slightly different positions/spacing. After a while there is some relaxation but I can also feel a lot of movement and adjustment, not unpleasant, maybe this is as it should be. But this is not described in any information about the product and overall I have not felt it to be as effective as the spikey yoga relaxation mat I have. To summarise , I think it is too expensive for what it is, 2 tennis balls in a sock are better value for money, although not quite as soft. I will persevere, but this may end up as an unused gimmick in my drawer.
