Dance of Shiva
Unavailable
This challenging DVD will provide western yogis and practitioners of other meditative movement arts with an in-depth introduction to the theory and practice of Dance of Shiva. The DVD features lectures and demonstrations as well as practice sections shot in the stunning high Himalayas of Nepal. Andrey Lappa describes Dance of Shiva as a system of conscious liberation. It is an ancient yogic art which uses synchronized movements of arms and legs to create powerful flows of life energy. As the movements become more complex, the practitioner is challenged to develop increasing conscious control of these energy flows, with beneficial physical, mental and spiritual results. Andrey has created a uniquely modern and systematic method of teaching this ancient practice.

Andrey Lappa is a Ukrainian yogi who brings some fascinating and quite different approaches to the practice of physical spiritual integration in his DVDs. The Dance of Shiva is a yogic system which uses synchronized movements of the arms and legs to help release conditioned patterning and bring out our creative potential. In performing the dance, we are developing our experience of the interaction between movement and balance, spontaneity and control. By moving the limbs through the space surrounding us, we harmonize our inner awareness with the external environment. The Dance creates complex connections, both with the external world and within our minds. The DVD runs for over 4 hours and includes practice of the Dance of Shiva shot in the stunning Himalayas of Nepal, and in-depth lectures on the history and theory of the practice.
