# Yoga Numerology

In China, since ancient times, man has symbolically represented the natural order of manifestation through numbers. They were used to signify the progression of different levels of the natural order within a specific cosmological view. Numbers were considered to represent the different levels of materialization and specialization as spirit focalized into matter. The Chinese philosophical system is based on ten numbers. One to five represent the generation of life, and six to ten represent the accomplishment of that life. With One representing the Cosmic and Ten representing mankind, the numbers from 2 to 9 are the stages on the pathway of differentiation from singularity to self. This work looks at these numerical levels of differentiaion from both a Taoist/Chinese medical and Yogic/ayurvedic perspective, and seeks a holistic expression of the levels of materialization/animation inherent in the cosmos, pointing the reader to the possibilities of using numerology to gain a deeper understanding of their own path.
