Traditional Indian cotton rug

Traditional Indian cotton rug

Unavailable
Cotton dhurrie mat custom-made for yoga practice the traditional Indian way. Made from handcrafted densely woven pure cotton so that they retain their shape. Recommended for ashtanga yoga since they absorb sweat, and for meditation and decoration! Can be placed over a non-slip mat, and used with a vapour mister for the best traction.
The navy and green mats have a series of narrow stripes, and the eggplant has fewer, wider bands.

I started yoga at the beginning of December 2009. I quick found I needed a mat as I get rather hot. After some online searching I found YogaMatters, and was it a great find? oh yes! I found the mat I wanted easily and quickly. The photos and description are excellent. It is a very tough, durable rug and so comfortable to sit on, practice yoga on and looks really nice. It's simple design makes it feel and look great. Well worth the money. The only thing to take in to consideration is the length. At 200cm this is a long rug/mat so if you are strapped for space go for something else.

I bought the indian rug to use on top of the prana revolution mat for extra grip. Yes, extra grip!! In the summer, you still slip all over that mat. Its comfortable, and it gives an extra layer of cushioning for the knee joints so a great purchase I think.

Great quality and value. Good for those of us who build up a sweat on the mat. Very good grip and because it's quite thick and heavier than many yoga towels , it doesnt bunch up and need re-arranging as much as yoga towels do - which can be rather distracting during one's practice. Colour and fibres can transfer to skin a little though, but if you are getting pretty sweaty in your practice this will easily shower off in your post practice shower. Colour may also transfer to your skicky mat underneath if you are using one.

I am really happy with the Indian Rug the colours are vibrant, quality excellent and my reason for the purchase, was to provide more friction due to sweaty palms and feet during challenging postures, which I can say has worked.
