I have had my ultra black yoga mat for almost ten years and nothing compares. Granted it is heavy however it has been to Europe on many occasions and I enjoy the comfort.

I am new to Yoga and bought the Ultra black mat on the advice of my teacher. He is very impressed with it, it is better than his, so therefore I am very impressed with it!!! But, seriously, it is excellent.

This is such a high quality mat, heavy yes, but I was after a mat that would last me beyond two years of practice. A bit slippery to start with, but gradually it wears in and the stickiness improves. Not as wide as previous mats that I have had, but because it is extra long (I prefer a longer mat to a wider mat), I can easily move between poses without my head ending up on the floor.

I have been going to a self-practise Ashtanga class for a few months now & the teacher & a few of the others all have this mat which I was very impressed with before they told me the price. They paid £60 for theirs! So this is a bargain aswell. Ashtanga is a very refined & special yoga which deserves a refined & special mat. Now I don't have to think about my feet & my mat slipping, I love my new mat.

If you want a mat to enhance your practice to the next level, then this is it - best used on the smooth side for a better grip I have found it much easier to hold a strong asana, and the thickness of the mat ensures a comfortable flow throughout my ashtanga practice.

I bought this mat 3 weeks ago and am delighted with it. It lays very flat and doesn't slip at all. I practice ashtanga yoga and for this it is fantastic. I am only miffed that i didn't buy it sooner.

A Good quality mat that is sturdy and hard wearing. It does not bunch due to its weight and thickness, which is a big plus. However, it's not a light mat and can become slippery if you sweat alot during your practice. I tend to use this mat for home practice and a lighter one for class and simply wipe it down to avoid slipping. All in all, if your looking for a mat that will last years of daily practice, especially for styles like ashtanga, the ultra black mat is hard to beat.
