At Yogamatters we whole heartedly respect the right to privacy of our customers and staff. We promise that we will never give or sell your details to anybody or any company, anywhere, anytime. We will only use customer data for legitimate business purposes.  Under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998, we have a legal duty to protect any information we collect from you. It will not be disclosed to any other organisation unless you give explicit permission, or there is a legal obligation to do so.

How we collect information about you depends on which website facilities you use:  We collect the information you provide for specific purposes such as email address, delivery address, credit or debit card numbers and expiry date, and contact information.  We collect stored information which you provide to enable you to logon and reuse site facilities such as subscriptions to email newsletters. We also collect website usage information to help us assess the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, improve the usage of the website and to improve the design of the website and make it more usable for you.  We collect website usage from our web server, URLs passed to us when you enter our site, a selection of Internet Service Providers,  and a selection of search engine companies.  In all cases, website usage information excludes any information that can be traced back to you, so is non-personal in the meaning of the Data Protection Act.

You have a right to see any personal information which is held about you upon written request. We are not responsible for the data policies or procedures or the content of web sites linked to Yogamatters. Our web site conforms to the requirements of the Data Protection Act, 1988. Shopping with us is safe - guaranteed. Yogamatters use bank-approved software which uses 128-bit encryption for secure credit card processing. We take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information and are responsible for any breach of security (unless this is your fault). Don't forget that the web isn't a dangerous place to shop if you use common sense. The risk of using your card on a reputable site is no greater than using your card in a shop or restaurant. Credit card companies protect you the buyer: If unauthorised transactions are charged to your account you can request a refund from your credit card issuer. If you feel confident buying by phone or mail, you should feel confident buying from Yogamatters. In the UK and Europe you have excellent legal protection as a consumer: You are covered by the Sale of Goods Act 1979; the Trade Descriptions Act 1976; and the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.

We are an accredited retailer with ISIS, the Internet Shopping is Safe scheme, and we subscribe to the Safebuy Web Code of Practice . Our checkout process is secured by Thawte .
