Yoga means different things to different people and we honour and support everybody who travels a yoga journey, whatever road is taken and however it may diverge.

Here at Yogamatters, we are committed to living out our yoga principles both on and off the mat.

We genuinely believe that yoga matters. That every body is a yoga body and that everybody can benefit from a regular yoga practice. Our team includes yoga teachers and students with a breadth of experience who are united in their passion for yoga. At Yogamatters, we believe in community, not competition. In collaboration and not rivalry.

We are living in what sometimes feels like a fragmented world. And so we search for what unites us, what builds community, what promotes healthy relationships and positive connections. And there we find yoga, for the word ‘yoga’ in Sanskrit means ‘to yoke – to join and to unite’. So whatever our experience, expertise or preferred practice, our love of yoga will always be what unites us. We are all on the same side. We all roll out our mats and practise yoga. Each one of us is an important part of the worldwide yoga body.

Great customer service really matters to us. We aim to provide a warm and friendly service that is equally professional and effective.

All our policies, terms and conditions have been carefully considered to provide the best level of service for our customers and our growing business. They are there for a reason – to present a clear, honest and fair framework for each of our online retail relationships.

We promise to listen with respect to any reasonable requests and give them our full consideration, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with any queries or issues. We will always try our best to accommodate your requests, answer your questions and deal with your problems, but please be aware that this may not always be possible in all cases.

Therefore, when you are browsing our website, we would urge you to think before you click. We want to promote conscious shopping – where every time, you mindfully fill your basket with the items that you absolutely love. And if you are then not happy with your purchase for any reason, please follow the clear returns guidelines provided promptly and correctly.

We love to see you shopping with us and returning time and time again. Do please contact us with any suggestions as to how we can improve your shopping experience and our customer service.

A good relationship with each of our suppliers is also vitally important. We are always on the lookout for companies with strong ethical credentials. We recognise that we have a responsibility to people and planet and look for ways to support both.

As a team, we promote and support each other in our health and wellbeing journeys. With a diverse team comes diverse diets - vegans, vegetarians, gluten-free... the list goes on. In an effort to nourish the team, we offer a breakfast bar that caters to all. We also now have several standing desks and various kneeler chairs and exercise balls, to encourage everyone to avoid the issues that accompany sitting for long periods of time. We encourage our team to pause, breathe, and smile.

No-one's perfect and we've still got work to do, but here are a few things we do to minimise and reverse our contribution to climate change:

* Where we can, we no longer use airfreight to deliver stock and instead opt for sea freight instead. Yes, this means that products take longer to reach us, but our purchasing team simply order them sooner.

* We use as little energy as possible in our offices - and can confirm that fleece yoga blankets keep you very toasty during the winter months.

* We never throw away a sheet of paper if it's blank on one side. * We recycle as much of our waste as possible - and have a variety of coloured bins to prove it.

These are just a few things that matter to us and a few things that we do. We are well aware that there is a lot more we can do and will be doing to support people and planet, in equal measure, as we journey forward.
